Leeds Children’s Mayor 2020

Our very own Sam Hill in Year 6 has been elected as the Leeds Children's Mayor for 2020! This is a fantastic accomplishment and we're so proud that Sam will be representing CMCS. Sam is the 18th Children's Mayor of Leeds and over 3,500 children and young people voted in the elections.

Sam's manifesto is to 'be yourself, love yourself and respect all others' and he is planning to build bonds between people and community.

Sam already has some events and meetings lined up, including being involved with the Leeds Christmas lights switch-on and laying a wreath for Remembrance Sunday. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, these events may be virtual, but it's still very exciting that Sam will be involved!

He will also be working alongside Leeds City Council and the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Eileen Taylor.

Thank you to all of our pupils who voted for Sam. We are really excited to see what the future holds for him.
