Dear Parent/Carer

I am writing to inform you of how we have been working together as a school community to reduce the impact of Coronavirus.

We have been monitoring closely the advice from Public Health England and the Department for Education and promoting the guidance offered regarding hand washing and hygiene around the school sites. Information can be found on the school website

Additional hand sanitisers have been placed at frequent locations around the school site for staff, pupils and visitors and we have continued to ensure that routine cleaning of the building has been increased and strengthened at key points of communal interaction.

As of 13th March, Public Health England has confirmed that the risk level to individuals from Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been raised to high.
Currently, the UK Chief Medical Officers are advising that you should stay at home for 7 days if you have either:

  • a high temperature (37.8 degrees and above)
  • a new continuous cough

This will help to protect others in your community while you are infectious. Up-to-date information can be found from and the NHS:
Information and Advice from (Public Health England and the Department of Health and Social Care). This page is updated at 2pm every day until further notice.

Please use the usual processes to inform the school if your child is showing symptoms with those outlined above. Your child’s absence will be recorded as authorised.

The school will continue to be open until either the Government directs closure or the school governors and leadership decide that the school is unable to function effectively and safely. This is not the case at the moment but should this happen, we have contingency plans in place.

We will update you through text and letter in due course. Please contact the school should you need any further information.

Yours sincerely

Simon Flowers
Executive Principal
