Languages Cook Off!

Before summer, Year 8 pupils were challenged to research a French or Spanish recipe, before submitting their recipes and an explanation of the dish.

The pupils who presented the best projects made it to the final and had a 'cook off'; actually making their final dishes and presenting them to a panel of judges.

All pupils showed real determination during the cook off and it was lovely to see how much effort they put into their dishes! Congratulations to Steph & Fran who were the overall winners with their fantastic Chocolate Éclairs, made with homemade Choux pastry.

Sports Awards 2019

On Friday 27th September, over 200 pupils were invited to our surprise Sports Awards event, which celebrated pupils commitment to sport over the last academic year.

Bob Bowman from Leeds Rhinos Foundation and ex-pupil Jess Beckley were VIPs at the event. Both visitors gave an inspiring speech to pupils about why sport is such a big part of their lives and the importance of pupils continuing their passion for sport.

Pupils were rewarded for their attendance at sports Flexible Learning clubs, their commitment to playing in sports teams and all round enthusiasm for sport at CMCS.

Congratulations to Esme and Jahvai who were named Sports Personalities of the Year, as voted for by pupils in the ceremony.

National School Breakfast Programme

Our school has joined the government’s National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP), which is being delivered by the charities Family Action and Magic Breakfast.

As a NSBP School we are pleased to offer a healthy school breakfast, available to all pupils! There are many benefits that this brings, but it’s mainly that our pupils are then settled and ready to learn at the start of every school day.
