Year 8 Careers Week

w/c 14th March was our Year 8 Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance week for Year 8 pupils. The focus of this week was on helping pupils to consider future careers and the pathways they can follow.

A variety of guest speakers visited Carr Manor Community School to educate pupils on apprenticeships and the different careers available to them.

Six local businesses visited classes to speak about their companies and the recruitment processes. These included the University of Law, Northern Gas Network, Leeds Trinity University, Team Activ and Ahead Part. Pupils found this Career week very insightful and were grateful for the opportunity so early on in their school years.

Table Tennis Finals

Four of our Year 8 boys came 1st place in the Leeds Schools Table Tennis Finals on 1st March.

During the competition they beat Woodkirk High and The Leeds Grammar School. They then qualified for the West Yorkshire Finals, which took place on 12th March where they came 3rd overall.

Well done to the boys who represented Carr Manor brilliantly and excelled themselves during the games.
