On Wednesday 18th January the Year 8 and 10 boys travelled to the final table tennis competition of the year at Cardinal Heenan. Both teams had some great individual performances and won their first match. In the final match of the Year 10 game, Allerton Grange were the only opponents who stood in our way from gaining a place at the Leeds Schools Finals in February.
The final score in the match was 10-9 meaning that we drew on matches won overall. We had to wait to see if we qualified, and thankfully the next day it was confirmed that the boys had made it through to the Leeds finals on Thursday 9th February!
The boys, who are actually Year 9 pupils playing against Year 10 teams, came 3rd overall at the finals so it was a fantastic effort and we are really proud of their achievements. As they were playing up a year group, we will have the opportunity to compete in the competition again next year.
