A huge well done to all pupils who either took part or spectated at Carr Manor Community School's 24th Annual Sports Day, held at John Charles Centre for Sport.
The day got off to a fabulous start with a number of records being broken in the field events. Darnell Mintus threw a whopping 79 metres in the Year 10 boys Cricket ball throw and Charlie Barcoe leapt 1m 50cm in the Year 8 girls High Jump.
This success continued into the track races, with some excellent performances and very tight finishes which kept the line judges and timekeepers on their toes! The race of the day has to go to Abdullah Balogun who won the 200 metres, yards ahead of the rest of the field in a record breaking time of 25.75 seconds.
Overall, 15 records were broken throughout the day which reflects the hard work and effort from all competitors.
Congratulations go to Robinson House, who again cruised to victory for the fourth year running with an eight point lead over Bremner House. Robinson house gained 489 points and Bremner, 481 points. Well done also to Tomlinson House who finished in third place with 477 points and Trueman House who finished fourth with 439 points.
Well done to our athletes who achieved new personal bests, those who set new school records and equally as important, those who stood in to take part in races/events to gain valuable points for their team.
A huge well done to everyone who contributed making it such a positive, supportive and enjoyable day.
