The Year 7 girls athletics team had their Leeds Indoor Athletics Finals last week at the Co-op Priesthorpe Academy. The girls made Carr Manor history by being the first girls team to qualify for these finals which in itself is an outstanding achievement.
The finals were highly competitive and included four other schools across the whole of Leeds, including the reigning champions Roundhay High School.
The girls had it tough during the competition and had to settle for 2nd or 3rd place in most of the track events having previously dominated these in the earlier heats.
Despite this, the girls maintained their high levels of motivation and resilience and performed really well in the field events. The girls finished in overall 4th place which is a fantastic achievement and one they should be very proud of.
Well done to all the girls involved.
